Adjunct to A247 Test Method for Evaluating the Microstructure of Graphite in Iro

This graphite-rating chart supplements ASTM Specification A247, and is used to determine graphite form, size and distribution, for both gray and ductile iron.
The chart uses actual, high-quality photomicrographs as opposed to artist renditions. You will find this chart a valuable addition to the metallurgy lab to meet the requirements of ASTM A247.
The chart is broken down into the following four categories: distribution examples, graphite forms, flake size class, and nodule size class. The wall chart is 28'x 40', a great size for hanging on walls for easy use. The chart was prepared by the AFS Cast Iron Division Quality Control Committee with the approval of the ASTM Committee A04 on Iron Castings.
