Relates to protection of persons and property from injury by fire or explosion arising out of cutting, heating or welding operations. Preliminary precautions include the appointment of the responsible officer, inspection of site and issue of work permit. General precautions include reference to operations in or near hazardous locations and in other locations, and include essential safety measures to be taken before, during and on completion of the work. A permit is illustrated in an appendix and a second appendix provides a recommended procedure for cutting, heating or welding containers used for flammable or explosive substances.
