Full Description
This standard is part of the DOCSIS family of specifications. In particular, this standard is part of a series ofstandards that define the fifth generation of high-speed data-over-cable systems, DOCSIS 3.1. This standard wasdeveloped for the benefit of the cable industry, and includes contributions by operators and vendors from NorthAmerica, Europe, and other regions.
This document defines the requirements necessary for the Configuration, Fault Management, and PerformanceManagement of the Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) and the Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP)system. The intent of this standard is to define a common, cross-vendor set of functionality for the configuration andmanagement of CMTSs and CCAPs.
This standard defines a standard configuration object model for the configuration of the CCAP. This standard alsodefines the SNMP Management requirements for a CCAP. These SNMP requirements include both protocolconformance and management object definitions, based largely upon existing industry standard management objectsfound in DOCSIS CMTSs and Universal EQAMs. In addition, this standard defines the standard Event Messagingrequirements of a CCAP system.
