Full Description

ETSI TS 101 548 defines architectures for reverse powering of remote network nodes from multiple CPEs. Thearchitectures describe how to combine reverse power feed with POTS and data transmission. Options for combiningreverse powering with battery backup are also described. The present document identifies requirements for POTSsignalling translation when operated over reverse power feed. Start-up protocols are defined that will ensure safeconnection of reverse powered systems. Management requirements for reverse power feed and power combining withinthe remote network node are specified.
