Full Description
The present document provides the basis for specification of requirements and test methods for the low pass section ofPOTS/ADSL splitters. These splitters are intended to be installed at the Local Exchange side of the local loop and at theuser side near the NTP. The splitter at the user side may be part of the network or part of the user installation but will bealways used to connect an access network using ADSL technology as described in ETR 328 [1] with a typical homeinstallation.The present document does not cover the possible advantages and disadvantages of the ownership of the splitter e.g. bythe network operator, the user or a third party.
The present document covers most common situations to ensure a reasonable performance of this technology andfacilitate the launch of such systems.
The high pass filter function of the splitter is not within the scope of the present document.
