The present document specifies the characteristics of the physical layer procedures used for family G of the satellite component of UMTS (S-UMTS-G).It is based on the FDD mode of UTRA defined by TS 125 211 [5], TS 125 212 [6], TS 125 213 [7], TS 125 215 [8], TS 125 214 [9], TS 125 331 [10] and TS 125 433 [11] and adapted for operation over satellite transponders.
