The purpose of this bulletin is to raise the awareness of the hazards associated with the cleaning of diborane cylinders. When cylinders in diborane or diborane mixture service need to be hydrotested or taken out of service, EXTREME CAUTION needs to be observed. Hazards are identified and warnings are given. It is important to realize that empty cylinders contain hazardous produce residuals. Serious damage to property and serious injury to personnel can result when trying to clean or decontaminate cylinders. This bulletin does not attempt to provide methods for cleaning cylinders in diborane service. Only specially trained and qualified personnel should attempt to clean or decontaminate a diborane cylinder.
