Purpose. This standard defines the requirements, functional tests, and durability tests for low voltage automotive single and multiple-pole electrical connectors, terminals, and related components. Procedures included within this specification are intended to cover performance testing at all phases of development, production, and field analysis of electrical terminals, connectors, and components that constitute the electrical connection systems.

Applicability. Low voltage automotive single and multiple pole electrical connectors, terminals, and related components.

Remarks. This specification defines the test and validation requirements including test sequences for electrical connection systems.
