Description / Abstract: Material Description. This specification covers the properties of a polyester low density Sheet Molding Compound (SMC), reinforced with 15% carbon fiber and 30% glass fibers. All are randomly oriented and 25 mm in length. The cured material shall have a density of 1.4 g/cm3 maximum.
Symbols. The material abbreviation according to ISO 11469 is UP-GF30CF15 .
Applicability. Typical applications include the following: structural body panels.
