1. SCOPE

The material described by this Standard is a vapor degreasing grade trichlorethylene to which appropriate inhibitors have been added. It is insoluble in water, but completely miscible with ethyl alcohol, ether and most common organic solvents. The material is a solvent for oils, fats, waxes, grease, tar, gums, and resin and shall be so inhibited that it will not break down in operation in properly maintained continuous degreasing units.
