In view of our national emergency on energy fuels and for the reduction of pollution to meet ecology demands, special consideration should be given to waste water heat reclamation equipment. The object of this paper is to point out the benefits of waste heat reclamation in laundries with emphasis on fuel conservation; reduction of thermal pollution; elimination of air pollution; and reduction of solids carry-over to sewer. It also covers construction and operation of hot water heating systems for laundries with emphasis on tank material and lining; the conventional storage heater; the pressurized reverse-flow limited storage heater; and the vented reverse-flow heater.
