Full Description

A laser-based technique for shaping non-circular profiles is presented which allows flexible finishing of discontinuous features such as polygons and arbitrary sharp corners. In this process, non-circular profiles are formed through overlapping tangentially impinges laser beam paths. A simulation tool is developed to estimate the final non-circular profiles for given output of fundamental frequencies and associated amplitudes extracted from FFT.
