Full Description

Describes the customary New Zealand detachable connector arrangement used for electric jugs and other appliances with a load rating up to 10 A at up to 250 V. The connector is flat (reversible) having two recessed contact tubes to connect to the two round pins of the appliance inlet, and having a pair of exposed earthing contacts to make a scraping connection with the earthing plate of the appliance inlet. The specification sets out essential dimensions for fit, and prescribes safety and performance requirements and tests.
