Ensures the consistent application of the warrants necessary to assess the need for traffic signals throughout the country. Indicates a means of compliance in terms of layout, equipment, operation and maintenance of such systems. Installations covered are those used for: (a) the control of intersections and pedestrian crossing places; (b) the control of one lane sections of roadway; (c) the control of lane usage; and (d) the compulsory interruption of the traffic stream at places other than intersections.
