Full Description

Covers ballasts excluding resistance types, for use on alternating current supplies up to 250 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz, associated with tubular fluorescent lamps with pre-heated cathodes operated with or without a starter switch and having rated wattages, dimensions and characteristics as specified in IEC 60081. Applies to complete ballasts and to their component parts such as reactors, transformers and capacitors having a capacitance of not less than 0.1 microfarad. Other capacitors having a capacitance of greater than 0.1 microfarad are covered by BS 4017. Identical to IEC 60082:1980 with modifications for New Zealand.
