Applies to the qualification testing of welders to establish their competency in MIG, TIG and Arc plasma welding of stainless steel pipework to meet the hygiene requirements of the dairy industry. Is not intended to cover the welding of pressure pipework. The test consists of: (a) A butt joint in pipe, and (b) branch connection in pipe, both welded from one side without backing.
