Full Description

This Technical Report supplements ISA77.42.01, Fossil Fuel Plant Feedwater Control System-Drum Type, and provides recommendations for level measurement in boiler steam drums. Specifically, the use of differential pressure transmitters for drum level measurement in a power plant boiler drum is described. The need for compensation for density changes is explained and equations for the proper compensation are derived.
