Full Description

This standard provides the requirements for a tape format to be used for information interchange of processed or unprocessed data between information processing systems, and associated equipment using standard code as agreed upon by the interchange parties. This standard deals solely with the requirements for recording, with provision made for using a processing algorithm, on magnetic tape.
