This standard defines "Preferred Operating Region" and "Allowable Operating Regions for centrifugal pumps. The following factors are addressed that effect the life of a pump: temperature rise, seal life, noise, shaft fatigue, casting throat velocity thrust reversal, bearing life, vibration, internal mechanical contact, horsepower limit, NPSHA margin, and suction recirculation.
