This slide presentation begins with a comparison of leaded and non-leaded brass materials used in potable water systems. It outlines the various characteristics of leaded, lead-free, and non-lead, and gives statistics from a 1995 AFS Study, two EQI Studies done in 2002 and 2004, a 2005 GCWW Study, and a 2006 VPI Study all on leaching potential. Corrosion propensity, strength and machinability, replacement programs, performance/costs, and identified research issues are all outlined. Includes tables.
